Job Description

Job Summary

Primarily works in the boot department assisting guests with the purchase of new ski boots, boot repairs and basic fits.

Responsibilities and Duties


  • Greet and assist all Footloose guests
  • Assist guests with selecting the correct boot for their foot shape, ability and anatomy.
  • Familiar with the Footloose Try Before You Buy program and pricing.
  • Familiarity with all in-line ski boots – how they fit and flex out of the box
  • Familiarity with Superfeet product
  • Complete all paperwork accurately and legibly
  • Provide accurate information regarding our ski boots, demo policies, repairs and fitting services
  • Provide basic boot-fitting
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all inventory; restock boots as needed; price boots as needed


  • Assist in other departments as needed
  • Clean and organize boot shop and sales area
  • Re-stock socks, foot-beds and other boot accessories as needed
  • File customer cards

Qualifications and Skills


  • Punctuality
  • Clean and professional appearance
  • Repetitive lifting of up to 25 pounds
  • Problem solving
  • Getting along with fellow employees and guests
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Basic understanding of ski boot function


  • Able to assess a customer and their feet and determine what boots will work for their individual needs
  • Shell sizing
  • Determine the appropriate flex
  • Familiarity with biomechanics of the feet and lower extremities as it relates to skiing
  • Able to change replaceable toe and heels
  • Basic buckle replacement
  • Capable of solving simple fit problems resulting from oversized ski boots and shimming
  • Correctly sizing, trimming and finishing Superfeet footbeds
  • Installing Hotronic boot heating systems
  • Safely use power tools and shop equipment, including but not limited to, bench grinders, drill motors, Foredom flex grinders and their accessories and bits
